Ugh my blog is devolving into the kind of ranty-yet-semi-serious chimera that I always feared it would become. But idgaf today because I'm too annoyed. The more I think about the angrier I get.......how is it that some people, in their 18 years of living, were never taught to develop a sense of social awareness or to just shut the fuck up when they have nothing better to say??? My goodness, I don't know why I always seem to attract these types.....actually maybe I do have a vague notion of why I always end up with these social f-ups. My theory is that to an outsider, I appear to be the type who can laugh off insults so they take advantage of that to bare the narcissistic and entitled part of their consciousness and treat this manifestation like an act of purging. I also suspect that a system of assumptions about what one is entitled to exists, with which they use to justify their bad behaviour. For all we know, this can possibly be what enables this self to reveal itself in the first place!
A simplified version of my hypothesized thought process is as follows: people suppress ugly nature > finds easy avenue for purging of suppressed emotions > right moment occurs where rudeness is justified by feelings of entitlement and circumstance > RUDE SHIT!
I don't think it is unfair for me to demand a little tact in our conversations. And if you miss a social cue and commit an etiquette crime, there's always the option of backtracking. Apologizing or behaving as if you know you're in the wrong really spares both parties of the awkwardness created from the previous gesture. I say this because I honestly respect and am grateful to those who correct themselves when they commit a social faux pas. Trust me when I say this, most of the friends I keep closest to my heart are those who understand that a basal level of mutual respect is needed to maintain a relationship.
If you're still reading at this point, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You will be rewarded with a tale of my bravery and compassion.

So after my Floorball match today (another story in and of itself about the futility of sports and the woes of being an excellent sharp shooter which I may, but most probably will not, elaborate on as I have no wish to recall such a pointless memory), I went out and attempted to rescue this poor baby bird that fell out of its nest! Some kind soul wrapped it in a towel, but somehow it wasn't properly covered and when I found it it was making weird noises and shaking......like wheezing and hiccuping at the same time? My heart melted (figuratively....shit I was THIS close to saying "literally") at the sight of this poor vulnerable orphan and so attempted to wrap it more comfortably and put it into a paper box that I made BUT! Fate intervened. It seemed like the little nestling was not only cold and sick but ravenous as well, for it suddenly extended its rotund little head towards my finger and unhinged its little beak to reveal a gaping hole, out of which came a monstrous cry. I was so shocked that I nearly tumbled off the stairs. Sensing that my finger was in great danger, I called my spare fingers for help, Intan and Ariel. They excitedly joined me with elated cries of "I want to go home", "dammit it's the peak hour now" and "can we go yet?". Although they appeared reluctant, I'm sure a maternal instinct awoke within their hearts that day, for all three of us ended up chewing biscuits and feeding the half-digested mush to the baby bird. Gross, but we did it to save a life! In the end, I managed to scoop the baby bird and pack it more comfortably into the makeshift nest. Of course this came at the expense of my hygeine as my skin came in contact with its shit. But....for the sake of birdmanity! I would do it all over again. :)
