YO!!! I HAVE ARRIVED IN VIETNAM DANANG!!! THERE WAS A 1-2 HOUR FLIGHT DELAY AND EVERYONE ON THE 2ND FLIGHT GLARED AT US BUT WHATEVS I AM GLAD TO HAVE SURVIVED!!!!! Our pilot was pretty cool he's from Chile!!! What is he even doing in VIETNAM?!?!?))$?82&828:

BoOOooOooo I'm glad I'm going to VIETNAM in 3 hours, BUT!!!! I JUST WENT ON INSTAGRAM AND I FOUND THAT MY SIS HAD POSTED A PICTURE OF LEGO SITTING ON MY LUGGAGE AND IT GENERALLY LOOKS OKAY BUT IF YOU SCRUTINIZE IT REALLY CLOSELY, YOU CAN SEE MY U******^!!!!:@:&-@93 YEARGHHHHHHH

This week seems like a repeat of last week. On both Sundays, I went shopping for jeans and celebrated my grandad's barfday. And it goes without saying that Mondays are always the same.

Today was such a sad day :'((( I had my last piano lesson with my piano teacher of....6 years?!? 7?!?!??? ARGH IT'S REALLY SAD!! Sigh my new teacher looks really grouchy and scary ;(( Plus, she's from CHINA!! Which probably means she'll be super strict and wont tolerate my laziness :'((( Anyway, I took the same lift as her yesterday and she was.......CHECKING HER FACEBOOK!!!!!!! LOL. O-Kay, MAYBE she won't be as mean and evil as I make her out to be.....one can only hope ;'(

So today!!!! I finished watching this Tom Cruise movie called "Minorty Report"!!!! :D IT'S REALLY A GOOD SHOW. For a Sci/fi movie, it's pretty sound, though I think they could've explained some *STUFF* instead of making it intentionally ambiguous and leaving it open to interpretation. 9.2/10, would recommend! LOL I don't think anyone actually trusts the reviews that I put here on my dumb blog :'(((( But you ne'er know, maybe I'll grow up to be the next Roger Ebert or something!!!

LOL ME AND LOCKIN DID THIS DURUNG PHYSICS TODAY

I've been feeling rather strange recently.
It's not a feeling that can be easily described by the words that we currently know. Relative to where I am now, it appears that everything in the world has inexplicably become...detached. Like I'm in a perpetual state of jamais vu. This morning, as I sat in class, surrounded by the usual babble produced by 408, I felt a vague sense of unfamiliarity and unease. The faces that I saw, the voices that my eardrums had grown to recognize, the whitewashed walls speckled with bag worms at spots that I had presumably memorized, all of it seemed strangely foreign. Yes, the girl next to me was Jolene, but...WHO was she? I've had countless conversations with the boy behind me, but did I REALLY know him? It was almost as if I was stuck in limbo, physically in the world but not a part of it, like a crack had appeared in the space-time continuum and disrupted my cognitive ability, thereby causing a shift in my consciousness. It was perplexing, in an uncomfortable way. Also, jamais vu appears to have pervaded my very soul. I smile, laugh, frown and contort my face, but no matter what I do, I can't shake off the feeling of being unaccustomed to constructing facial expressions. Force of habit creates them for me, but they feel wrong nonetheless. How bizarre.

Ohyeah there was a blood drive (hosted by Singapore's black market) in school today but it wasnt as fun as I expected because I didn't even get to donate and the process was generally boring.

YAY YAY YAY TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY!!! :)))

Last night (or 2 nights ago, I can't remember), I dreamt that Ms Sonia communicated with me via Facebook and told me that I fAILED MY COMPRE TERRIBLY AND SHE WAS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH ME AND I OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF MYSELF AND TODAY DURING LA I WAS SO WORRIED THAT THE PROPHESY WOULD BE FULFILLED AND IT WAS SO INTENSE THAT I NEARLY PEED IN MY PANTS, BUT GUESS WHAT?!?!? I didn't fail :))) It was a huge surprise for me too, but I got 38/50!!!!!!! OMG I can't believe it it still feels like a dream?!? I know my LA isn't actually *THAT* good. I think I was just lucky :((( Anyway, I would still like to thank my new BFF who is the greatest, smartest, cutest and wittiest intellectual on earth, Aldous Huxley ;))) LOL I LIED, HE DIED BEFORE I WAS BORN!!! But thank you for imparting your thoughts and knowledge to the earth before dying, it was indeed very kind of you, ol' chap <3

OHYEAH YESTERDAY I WENT FOR ZEITMUSIK!!!!! It was lovely, but it's kind of annoying that they repeated a few songs from the other music concerts?!? Maybe next time I'll just go for ZEITMUSIK >:( LOL The most memorable piece was the one by BELLA BUTTOCK!! HAHAHAHAHA CALL ME YUNSIE BARTOK FROM NOW ON <33 It's so cool, almost as cool as Tchaikovski <33 During the prize presentation Ethan and I cheered for Jeremy and Wang Tak!!!! And Victoria and I cheered for Jessie!!! Sadly, we were too soft and none of them heard us :'(

YOOOOOOOOO I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT MY TEMPORAL EXISTENTIAL CRISIS BUT AFTER READING THIS BOOK, I DECIDED TO STOP BEING SUCH AN INDULGENT AND SELF-CENTERED LITTLE NINCOMPOOP!!


Obviously, this post is a book recommendation. Disclaimer: You might get offended by some parts of the book but I won't give a SHET. Disclaimer Part 2: If you have ADHD, I'm afraid this is not the book for you.

I....I'm too overwhelmed. I finished the book just 3 minutes ago, and my mind is still trying to process everything that I've just read. Where should I start?! From the beginning, then. My least favourite part about the book was THE BEGINNING!! That was the case for the other 2 books that I read too. I get that he tries to make the setting very clear, but reading paragraph upon paragraph of unnecessary and boring details about California is...painful. Many people get put off by the torturous beginning, HOWEVER!!!! It'll all be worthwhile when you get past all that <33

The content for me was like a club sandwich from the Raintree cafe; a bit too big to fit into the mouth, but tasty all the same. Some parts (i.e.:Mr Propter's never-ending philosophizing) are really hard to take in at first, but the more you read, the more you'll start to think about your own opinions on the themes raised. Although many readers hated the philosophizing and called it "mumbo-jumbo", I personally enjoyed perusing these sections and formulating my own thoughts as I went along. I especially love how Huxley manages to capture everyday thoughts that people normally think of and bring them across in a rare eloquence which makes what was once muddy pellucid.

The plot was pretty stagnant for two-thirds of the book...like I said, there was a little too much philosophizing. In this stagnancy, the personalities of each character became very clear. Condescending doctor Obispo, insecure Mr Stoyte, pretentious Jeremy Pordage, humble Mr. Propter, ditzy Virginia Maunciple.....the list goes on. Please do not think of this as a reflection of my own moral standards, but I was on #TeamObispo<3 the whole time. Albeit overly cynical and slightly lacking in the moral department, he's the sort of antihero that readers would naturally side with.

ANYWAY!! The plot gradually picked up, anD THE SUSPENSE WAS REALLY TENSE I COULD FEEL MY HEART BEATING AT TWICE ITS NORMAL RATE AS I PORED OVER THE PAGES, EXCITEDLY ANTICIPATING THE CLIMAX. AND THEN!!!!!! AT THE CLIMAX MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT AND I HAD TO RE-READ *THAT* LINE A FEW TIMES BECAUSE IT WAS JUST THAT INTENSE. ARGH THINKING ABOUT IT IS BAD FOR MY HEART

After that the story was just o-kay. All in all, the story was like a combination of The Great Gatsby and The Piano. You sort of know how the ending will turn out, but it leaves you breathless all the same.

I rate it 8.7/10!!! Read it only if you're sure you wont fall victim to Obispo's charms and end up joining #teamObispo <3


By the way, I GOT OVER MY EXISTENTIAL CRISIS!!! THE BOOK WAS SIMPLY TOO ENJOYABLE TO BE READ IN A SOUR MOOD.

Okay, yesterday wasn't as bad as I made it out to be.

It was Sherlyn's last day in school!! We took photos at 4.30pm :') Ahh it was nice reminiscing about our JH1 life with Mousey, Kiran, Daniel, Ethan, and Jolene.

Shit today is really a bad day I can't wait for it to end. It's one of THOSE days where all the crises in my life resurfaces all of a sudden and culminates into this really indescribable emotion that saps my strength and creates this painful lump in my throat. It's like feeling the weight of being unappreciated, mocked, and forgotten all at once- no, not all at once, but over a period of 24-hours, until you finally reach the point where you are utterly convinced that your existence is of no significance to the world, or even to the people around you. And thinking about it just makes that lump hurt even more than it already does, and you start to feel your lacrimal glands welling up with bodily fluids that threaten to betray your emotions to the people around you. But then you realize, no one cares. You're just a nameless nobody whose presence and absence are neither felt nor noticed. Why? Because that's just what you are. Forgettable.

YAWWWWW SO SLEEPY!!! I'm seriously going to sleep at 10pm today :((((((

Today, Jolene, Ethan, and I went to Alexandra hospital for [TOP SECRET CENSORED CLASSIFIED] BUSINESS. After that we ate dessert at the hidden-cafeteria-for-spies-only. My Ice KaChang was like Mount Averest :(( :(( and not :)) because it was too gigantic for me :'(

SO! I wanted to talk about this yesterday, but ended up not being able to do so because my thumbs were too tired. YES, IT'S ABOUT THE CONJURING!!!!!!! Why does everyone keep talking about it?! LOL I say that but I think it's actually just me who keeps mentioning it. To be honest, it looks pretty much like a second Insidious with all those cheap scares and leg-pulling poltergeist shit :6 Not that it wouldn't scare me, but I'm just saying that the plot must be quite flimsy for James Wan to employ the use of such lame gimmicks. I also think that the "based on a true story" tag is just rubbish used to make The Conjuring more infamous than it already is. What I dont get is, why does everyone get so worked up over it being "based on a true story"? So MAYBE the story of spooky-boogies waking people up at 5.15am by levitating their beds every night IS true, but so what? It's not like knowing that will cause the ghosts to relocate to YOUR house to levitate your bed at 5.15am. And if you think about it now, the ghosts sound kind of weird...if I were a poltergeist, I would clog the toilet bowl and fling faeces at the sleeping humans instead of doing something inane and boring like LEVITATING THEIR BED.
Anyway, the only thing that looks promising in the trailer is that suave wolverine guy with sideburns. Is he an exorcist?! An astral projection?!? Or a victim?!?!?!? That's all I really care to know about.


Ahhh so many things happened during these past 2 days, but MY EYELIDS ARE DROOPING SO ILL LET YOU INFER WHAT HAPPENED BY LOOKING AT THESE PICTURES. Last night I dreamt of wanton noodles.

Halp it feels like I haven't had a good night's sleep in ages :( This past week has been especially bad, and the worst part is that I'm not even like a shaman prophet who can SEE THE FUTURE in her dreams!! All my dreams are about dumb everyday things that appear a little warped and distorted, but that's all. And the next morning, I'll always find mah baby Ace pillow on the floor :(

Last night I had a lovely yet strange dream!! I was in a hall/ball and I met mah <3 Prince Charming <3 and we had a great time just walking around the hall and trying to dance. <33 It felt so magical and I was convinced we would be together for lyfe <3 When we sat down to rest, I randomly asked "how old are you?" And he casually replied "at least twice your age" and I was so shocked that I woke up.



OKAY THAT WAS A STUPID DREAM I HOPE IT'S NOT A PREMONITION THAT I'LL GET MARRIED TO SOMEONE 16 YEARS OLDER THAN ME!!! GROSS.

ANYWAY!!! I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT YESTERDAY!!!! Sherlyn had her farewell party yesterday :'(( IT WAS REALLY FUN!!!! Thanks to Hyun Hee and Lee Chin and Victoria and whoever helped plan it!! :)) Ahhh I wish I could say the water bomb game was my favourite, or the running man game, BUT EVERYTHING WAS EQUALLY FUN!!!! I really, truly, honestly, enjoyed myself. :') I'm sure baby funghi gurl did too <3 The emo time at the end was so sad............ :( Goodbye WIDDLE Sherlyn!! I'll really miss you. Yesterday I watched this romantic yet sad japanese movie called "5 centimeters per second"!! The art was seriously beautiful and detailed like from a Hayao Miyazaki movie!!!! There was a 2-second scene showing a black pilot pencil which was amazingly accurate! The story itself was lovely. Not that refreshing kind of lovely, but more of a bittersweet lovely. I don't know how to explain it!!!! Sort of like the feeling you get after watching 那些年 but slightly more melancholic. ARGH. JUST WATCH IT YOURSELF!!

Anyway......love..........what is love? I think it's something that's deeper and much more complex than what we think it to be. Maybe now you think you're in love with that boy who sits across you, or the boy whom you walked past at orchard road, or the boy who bakes at the cafe near your house, but I think that feeling isn't love. Hollywood depicts it as that sort of passionate electricity you get when you touch one another, but maybe that isn't love too. I don't know. It's strange how lots of people who are my age try to chat with 729361927192 boys and get a boyfriend. But it's pointless since 90% of them are just in it for the feeling. They love being fawned over, being taken care of, but they don't truly care who their significant other is. It's terrible, right? Personally, I think love is when you find someone who can fill you with so much joy and happiness that you won't need anyone else to dispel feelings of loneliness or...whatever. And the best part is that you're not with the person because you want to be "cool" or you just want company, or want someone to fulfill your desires (LOL). Anyway, I think it's gross when couples touch each other and kiss and do stuff in public. NO PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION PLEASE. Why do people kiss anyway?! What's so fun about kissing?! It's just lip-to-lip contact and it's pretty pointless since it just involves an exchange of orificial bacteria right?! Not that I am averse to kissing, but it just seems silly to someone like me, who isn't in love. Maybe one day when I find my one true love, I'll turn into the sort of kissing machine that I hate right now?!? I fervently pray that that day never comes. For now, the rule for my future boyfriend is NO TOUCHING ALLOWED except for hand-holding. If he's lucky, maybe, just maybe, we can kiss......one a month.

Ahh the previous paragraph was actually quite philosophical until I digressed and the main point somehow became something like "BOYS HAVE COOTIES"!!!! Please ignore the later half of my beautiful speech. The main point is: DONT GET INTO A RELATIONSHIP UNTIL YOU KNOW YOU'RE READY!! IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT TAKES YOU 20 OR 30 OR 65 YEARS, BECAUSE IT'LL ALL BE WORTH IT!!!! Well, that is my advice to all of you but feel free to take it with a pinch of salt since I have had no experience whatsoever in this department. To be honest, even though I wrote that entire paragraph about the complexity of love, I still have no idea what it means or what it's supposed to feel like, but I guess that's what love is. It's meant to be as mysterious and misleading as a whale's butthole.





HAAHAHHAAHHAHA OMG SERIOUSLY I DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Maybe looking at the following picture of some watercolour paintings I did today will lead to you having an epiphany and becoming a love guru. If it works, please tell me, then I can be your agent and we can rent a caravan and pretend to be professional gypsy shamans who can concoct 100% legitimate love potions.

TODAY I WENT FOR AN ICE-SKATING DATE WITH MAH FRIENDS!!! For the benefit of my blind readers who cannot see the attached photo below, they are Ethan, LockYin, Victoria and JieYing!! I was quite reluctant to go initially BUT I REALLY DONT REGRET GOING BECAUSE I HAD TONS OF FUN SKATING!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA IT WAS REALLY EXCITING.

BUT FIRST!! We ate lunch at some Japanese eatery called Takatsuiko Bario! I mean Tatsukani Bario! No, Tairasaki Mario?!?

LOL I HAD TO SEARCH THE J-CUBE WEBPAGE TO FIND THE NAME OF THE RESTAURANT. It's Ginza Bairin! HAHAHAHA TAKATSUIKO BARIO ISN'T EVEN CLOSE. Anyway, I ate this thingamajig called "Special Katsudon!!"!! And it was seriously delicious. I felt like a true samurai from a manga while eating it!! The bowl was the deep sort with a non-existent bottom, and it had the capacity of 10 Chinese rice bowls. I WAS SO FULL AFTER EATING!!! OMG I JUST REALIZED. We said "itadakimasu" before we ate but we forgot about "GOCHISOUSAMA DESHITA"!! If we were really in Japan, the chef would cry :'(

After that we went to skate for real!!! YARGHH THE BOOTS WERE SO UNCOMFORTABLE!!!! Haha smart Locky said we should put insoles inside! Anyway, the skating rink was ultra smooth and dangerous for n00bs like us!!!!!! I could only move 5cm per second ;9 I think it was worse for Ethan and Victoria because they didn't know how to skate!! But they became good....eventually. HAHAHA I DONT MEAN IT IN A SARCASTIC WAY. I was lousy too!! Fortunately, I only fell down once ;))) HHAAHAHAHAHHA THE FALL WAS SO EMBARASSING!!! FOR SOME REASON ME AND ETHAN WHO WERE SKATING PARALLEL TO EACH OTHER SUDDENLY TURNED INWARDS AND CRASHED AND IT WAS STUPUD BECAUSE I FELL STUPIDLY!!! IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO FALL GRACEFULLY?!? LOL. Ahhh I felt quite bad because I made a widdle kid fall too....I was just moving through this crowd when I suddenly skidded and I zoomed past everyone screaming "SORRY SORRY EXCUSE ME" AND I DIDN'T EVEN REALISE IT BUT I WAS HOLDING THIS LITTLE BABY'S ARM AND AS HE GOT PULLED ALONG HE JUST FELL HAHAHAHAAHHA. PLEASE DONT THINK I DID IT INTENTIONALLY!! It was really an accident :'( Poor baby boy!!

We also played some games!! LOL IT WAS SORT OF LIKE CATCHING BUT TO WIN WE HAD TO TOUCH SOMEONE ON THE RINK!! It was sort of embarassing...but as JieYing says, NO SHAME NO GAIN!! One of our victims was super fast and I only managed to tag him when he slowed down!! Okay the next game we played was catching!! LOCKIN WAS SUPER FAST SHE ALMOST CAUGHT ME!!!! But thankfully, she ended up catching Victoria, who caught Ethan, who spent 2739169226 years trying to catch Jie Ying. LOL JIE YING WAS JUST TOO FAST.

Then!!! After skating a little more, Ethan fell and we saw BLOOD ON HIS KNEE so we stopped skating. Our 2 hours were up anyway!

OHYEAH, I kept seeing my sisters' doppelgängers everywhere!!!! I dunno why, but I just kept having this strange feeling....so I looked around alot and saw a bunch of lookalikes!!!!! Maybe it was the feeling of being watched, because later on we met mah band juniors who saw me skating!!! WOW it's like I'm psychic or something ;)))



After that Lockin and JieYing went to do their bio project at Starbucks while Victoria, Ethan, and I went home :))) OH WE ATE LAO BAN BEANCURD AT THE MRT STATION!! :DDD MAH SAD DEPRIVED FRIENDS HAD NEVER EATEN LAO BAN BEFORE!!!!!! TRAGIC!!!!!!! Oh and I found out that what I knew as almond beancurd isn't really almond, but it's original flavoured?!? THEN WHAT DOES ALMOND TASTE LIKE?! IT SEEMS LIKE I HAVE TO GO BACK TO TRY LAO BAN'S ALMOND BEANCURD!!!!!!!


All in all, it was an enjoyable day :'))) I WANTED TO WRITE MORE ABOUT *OTHER STUFF* BUT THIS POST IS LONG ENOUGH ALREADY AND AHM SLEEPY(although I took a 2 hour nap upon reaching home)!!! GOODNIGHT BABIES <3

His real birthday is tomorrow but we had the celebration yesterday!!! OOOhhhh his 3-tiered cake was sooo yummy. I'm gonna have a cake like that when I'm 21! :D I think the coolest part was that all 3 tiers were of different flavors!! Black Forest, tiramisu, and cream cheese <3 And there were so many strawberries too!!!! OMG I'm drooling. I'm sorry, all I can talk about is the cake because I'm sosososo hungry right now.

So...TODAY!!! :DDD

I devoted today to activities that aren't academia-related. Tried playing a new piano piece (Monster with No Name), went on an adventure at Ion Orchard in search of takoyaki, and read a quarter of a book by Aldous Huxley.

BUT!!!! I think my greatest adventure today happened when I came home. I was just taking the MRT...when out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a handicapped man!! Not only that, but he was READING!! It's so rare to see passengers read nowadays. No, it's rare to see anyone read nowadays. I couldn't help staring, not because he was in a wheelchair, but because he was so absorbed in his book that he reminded me of a kid in the early 1990s, getting his first Nintendo game boy. It was amusing, watching him flip each page with his facial muscles tensed up with anticipation. I didn't manage to catch the title, but just looking at him made me want to read the book.

Anyway, we alighted at the same stop. I nearly laughed out loud at his depressed face when he reluctantly kept his book. As we moved through the door, I thought, ahh, it's probably going to be the last time I see someone like him. I turned to look at this peculiar man one last time, and suddenly wondered how he was going to maneuver his wheelchair up the steps. I've been using this MRT my whole life, but I've never actually seen a lift anywhere. For some strange reason, I ran back down the stairs. In retrospect, I don't know why I did that. It was clearly a strange thing to do, since I don't have the strength to lift both a wheelchair and a human even a centimeter off the ground. Also, I doubt I could've mustered enough courage to offer to help. In the end, I decided to just look at him from behind a pillar. The poor man looked confused. He wheeled to the bottom of the stairs, then back to the seats, and then to the other flight of stairs. It was heartwrenching, and I was screaming "SOMEONE HELP HIM PLEASE" internally the whole time. Then he moved into a blind spot, somewhere at the end of the platform. Well well, goodbye little man. I forced my legs up the stairs, to the entrance. I glanced back with a heavy heart. It was then that I spotted it. Tucked away in a shadowy area which looked suspiciously like an ordinary corner, there was an elevator.
