Deathnote is a GREAT show. For those of you who have never watched or read it, you have no life. Summary: 17 y/o Yagami Light acquires a deathnote which can be used to kill people. Light kills criminals only because he wants a beautiful world where he can be king.
But seriously, Light isn't as smart as he seems. Oh sure, in the beginning I admired his intelligence and bravado and handsomeness and etc etc. However, when I watched it a third time, I realized that his tactics were...dumb. The best strategy would be to:
1. Establish your presence by killing big criminals blah blah getting the public's support. Did Light do this? Yes.
2. Gain access to police information. Did Light do this? Yes.
3. Kill criminals regularly regardless of whether L suspects you. Did Light do this? NO.
The minute L said "Hmm the time of his killings follow that of a student's." , Light immediately changed his schedule which proved that he WAS a student. HOW DUMB. WHY DID YOU DO THAT LIGHT?!? Anyway, Light does dumb stuff like that throughout the whole show which eventually leads to him getting cornered. FURTHERMORE, if I was Light, I would temporarily cease my killing activities. That way, we would be at a stalemate.
Reasons why I cannot have a deathnote:
1. I'll be too obvious.
2. I will kill innocent people. Like my dumb discriminating teacher.
3. I want to go to heaven and not get stuck in limbo after death. (One of the conditions for using the book)
4. I would have too much fun.
5. I'll probably get a heart attack when I see the death god.
Reasons why I should have a deathnote:
1. No more annoying people on earth!
2. I can get lots of money and give them to poor people.
3. I am smart.
4. I will be the only one to survive the zombie apocalypse.
